Terms of Use
Effective Date: July 25, 2026 Last Updated: July 25, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CareTogether mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). CareTogether is operated by sk5s (“CareTogether,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using CareTogether, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service.
1. Purpose of CareTogether
CareTogether is a family caregiving coordination and communication tool designed to help family members, caregivers, and care recipients stay connected and support one another in the everyday experience of caregiving. The Service allows authorized users to share general information about a Care Recipient’s everyday state or status, such as mood, general condition, or whether a routine activity has been completed. CareTogether is intended to help families feel connected and share the everyday burden of caregiving.
2. Not a Medical or Healthcare Service
CareTogether is not a medical service, healthcare provider, medical device, emergency service, professional caregiving service, or substitute for professional medical advice. The Service does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, professional medical advice, emergency assistance, clinical monitoring, medical records, or professional healthcare recommendations. Information displayed in CareTogether should not be relied on as a substitute for qualified healthcare advice. Do not use CareTogether for emergencies or situations requiring immediate medical attention; contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified healthcare professional immediately.
3. Eligibility
You may use CareTogether only if you are legally capable of entering into these Terms under the laws applicable to you. If you use CareTogether on behalf of another person, you represent that you have the authority or appropriate permission to do so.
4. Accounts
Certain features require an account. The primary account holder who creates and manages a care group is the “Owner.” The Owner is responsible for keeping account and authentication credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date. You are responsible for activity through your account except where it resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.
- Do not share credentials with unauthorized persons.
- Do not allow unauthorized access to your account.
- Do not use another person’s account without permission.
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication or security measures.
5. Care Groups
CareTogether allows an Owner to create and manage one or more care groups according to the applicable subscription plan’s features and limits. A care group may include an Owner, one or more Care Recipients, and family members or other authorized participants. The Owner is responsible for managing the group and deciding who should access information within it, and should invite only people who should have access to relevant care information.
6. Care Recipients
A Care Recipient is a person for whom a care group is created. A Care Recipient may use CareTogether directly, including through an elder-friendly or simplified interface. The Owner and authorized participants are responsible for ensuring that a Care Recipient’s participation and access to information are appropriate and lawful. Users should respect Care Recipients’ privacy and dignity.
7. Invitations and Access
The Service may allow Owners to invite family members or other participants through invitation codes or other mechanisms. The Owner is responsible for managing access to their care group.
- Do not publicly distribute invitation codes.
- Do not give access to unauthorized persons.
- Do not attempt to access care groups without authorization.
- Do not use another person’s invitation or account without permission.
8. User Content
Users may submit information, status updates, short messages, and other content through the Service (“User Content”), and remain responsible for it. You represent that you have the right, permission, or other lawful basis to submit information about another person. CareTogether may impose technical limits, including text-message length limits, to encourage concise, practical caregiving communication and reduce unnecessary conflict.
- Do not submit unlawful content or content that violates another person’s privacy.
- Do not submit abusive, threatening, harassing, shaming, blaming, or intimidating content.
- Do not submit unnecessary sensitive information, infringing content, malicious software, or harmful code.
9. Family Communication
CareTogether is designed to encourage cooperation among family members and caregivers. Users acknowledge that disagreements may arise about caregiving decisions, responsibilities, or shared information. CareTogether does not act as a mediator, arbitrator, family counselor, or decision-maker in family disputes. Users are responsible for resolving disagreements themselves. We may take reasonable action against users who abuse the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
10. Subscription Plans
CareTogether offers subscription plans that provide additional functionality and increase the number of Care Recipients and family members an Owner may manage. Only the Owner is required to maintain a paid subscription; family members and Care Recipients may use features available through the Owner’s entitlement. All plans are billed monthly. Subscription features, limits, prices, and availability may change. The features, limits, and price shown in the application or applicable app store at purchase generally apply, subject to law.
- Tier 1: 1 Care Recipient, 3 family members, and a 7-day trial for eligible new users.
- Tier 2: 2 Care Recipients and 6 family members.
- Tier 3: 3 Care Recipients and 9 family members.
- Current product limits include up to five days of state history per Care Recipient, 100 text messages, and 10 recurring events.
11. Free Trial
CareTogether may offer a seven-day free trial to eligible new Tier 1 users. Eligibility is determined by CareTogether and the applicable app store or subscription platform. Before the trial starts, the purchase screen will explain the trial and the subscription that follows it. Unless canceled under the applicable app store’s procedure before the trial ends, the subscription may automatically convert to a paid monthly subscription.
12. Billing and Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store, including Apple App Store or Google Play, and generally renew automatically unless canceled before the next renewal date using that store’s subscription process. Price, billing period, trial terms, and automatic-renewal conditions are shown before purchase. If you do not cancel before renewal, the app store may charge the payment method associated with your store account. Deleting or uninstalling CareTogether does not necessarily cancel a subscription.
13. Managing and Canceling Subscriptions
You may manage or cancel a subscription through the relevant app store’s subscription tools. Cancellation generally prevents future renewal but does not necessarily refund the current billing period. Unless law or the applicable store requires otherwise, you may generally use subscription features through the end of the current paid period. Cancellation and refund rules depend on the relevant app store and your jurisdiction.
14. Refunds
Subscription payments are processed through the applicable app store. Refund requests are generally handled under Apple App Store or Google Play policies and procedures, as applicable. CareTogether does not directly process app-store payments. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory refund rights under applicable law.
15. Subscription Downgrades
An Owner may change to a lower tier. If the new tier has lower capacity, the Owner may choose in the application which Care Recipients and family members remain active. Unselected participants may become disabled; they are not necessarily deleted and may remain associated with the group, but may not use certain functionality. If capacity later permits, the Owner may re-enable them. The Owner is responsible for participant status after a downgrade, and a downgrade does not necessarily delete participant data.
16. Subscription Upgrades
When an Owner upgrades to a higher tier, additional capacity and functionality may become available according to that tier’s features and limits. The Owner may then add or enable additional Care Recipients or family members within those limits.
17. App Store Terms
If you download CareTogether through Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store’s terms and policies. Apple and Google are not responsible for CareTogether maintenance or support except as required by law. Your purchase and subscription relationship with Apple or Google is governed by the applicable store’s terms.
18. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CareTogether for unlawful purposes; gain unauthorized access to another account or care group; circumvent subscription restrictions; reverse engineer or interfere with the Service; introduce malicious code; abuse invitations; harvest information about users; harass or threaten others; use the Service as an emergency service or for professional medical diagnosis or treatment; or misrepresent yourself or your authority to access another person’s information.
19. Privacy
Your use of CareTogether is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information.
20. Intellectual Property
CareTogether and its software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by or licensed to CareTogether and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works based on the Service. You retain ownership of User Content. By submitting it, you grant CareTogether the limited rights necessary to store, process, display, and transmit it solely to provide and operate the Service.
21. Third-Party Services
CareTogether relies on third-party services for certain functions, including authentication, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and subscription management. These may include Firebase, Logto, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. CareTogether is not responsible for their independent acts or omissions except as required by law.
22. Service Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep CareTogether available, but do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. The Service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, network problems, third-party interruptions, security incidents, or events beyond our reasonable control.
23. Account and Access Suspension
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, engage in abusive or harmful conduct, where required by law, or where necessary to protect Service security or integrity. You may stop using CareTogether at any time. Suspension or termination may affect subscription features and User Content.
24. Account Deletion
CareTogether distinguishes an Owner’s personal account from the care group and its associated data. An Owner who wishes to delete a care group and its data must first use the in-app functionality to delete that group. Deleting an Owner’s personal account does not automatically delete the care group or associated data. After the group-deletion process is complete, the Owner may request deletion of their personal account and associated authentication information. Where required by law or app-store policy, CareTogether provides an appropriate account-deletion request process.
25. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareTogether is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the Service meets every need; user-entered information is accurate; the Service is always available or error-free; it prevents family disagreements; it improves a Care Recipient’s health or wellbeing; or it delivers a particular caregiving outcome. CareTogether is a communication and coordination tool, not a medical or healthcare service.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareTogether and its operators, employees, contractors, and providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service, including claims related to user information, family disagreements, caregiving decisions, reliance on shared information, interruptions, or lost access. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be limited.
27. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CareTogether and its operators, employees, contractors, and providers from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, User Content, violation of another person’s rights, unauthorized sharing of another person’s information, or violation of law.
28. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we may provide notice through the application, website, or other appropriate means. Updated Terms show their effective date. Your continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
29. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CareTogether are subject to the competent courts of Taiwan, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
